It’s time for a new quarterly episode of the Roving Reporter. In this episode, we took a look at one of the numerous projects happening in Kansas City—many with a deadline of completion in time for FIFA.
Although this project ended up being primarily concerned with making a dangerous road safer and pedestrian-friendly, it got started in an unusual way—by a community’s disappointment that a beloved fountain was allowed to fall into disrepair. Primers are used to educate policymakers about public works roles and responsibilities in public rights of way, the impact of federal workforce development policies on the industry and workforce, and the importance of resilient infrastructure.
