This presentation provides an overview of Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) with a focus on
what techniques are used for ABC, methods of project delivery, and keys to contracting provisions to
influence successful on-time completion to minimize mobility impact. Benefits of ABC are discussed
along with the common evaluation criteria used by agencies to decide when ABC makes sense to
apply to new bridges, bridge replacements and bridge rehabilitation. Finally, several case study
projects will be highlighted, and lessons learned shared for future ABC project improvement.
