In conjunction with our partnering organization, Common Ground Alliance (CGA), we encourage public works professionals to follow social media and share why locating underground utilities is important. Their posts are often easy to find by doing a search for #811, #callbeforeyoudig, or #contact811. Locating is key to being safe during construction and can prevent damage and protect critical utilities that keep us connected. The committee is sponsoring the Memorials in the Right of Way Click, Listen, and Learn (CLL) webinar on August 29. What are you supposed to do if residents are grieving the loss of a loved one, but the method they chose is creating a hazard in the right-of-way? You will hear from three jurisdictions and how they handle those situations.

UPROW has been busy this past year and continues to work for you and your organization. If you are interested in contributing to the committee, consider joining UPROW鈥檚 knowledge team by contacting education@apwa.org.
